Scott Davis (co-producer) and I got together right before we started recording this record and came up with this song together. He has two young children and we were wanting to channel Mr Rogers while trying to describe the divide in our country in way that those young hearts would understand. Love and kindness is the only way even when socializing is reduced to technical and virtual realities.

Who do you want to be?
Rising high with the country going by your window
From a distance it seems
Everything you love can get lost in the shadows
When you get in close, you’ll see it
Ain’t a world of make-believe
There’s so much more that’s right than wrong
Where do you want to go?
Surrounded by constant updates and endless chatter
It’s hard to hate up close
And words can get lost in the face of what really matters
When the echoes get too loud
You can pull yourself out of the clouds
There’s so much more that’s right than wrong
CH
And I would rather shake your hand
We won’t ever understand
But what’s the point of liberty and the land of the free without you and me?
What do you want to say?
How will you be remembered when the stories are written
What would be okay?
If we could just offer more than what was given
It’s not like you can take it with you
The life you live and what you can do
There’s so much more right than wrong
CH
Everybody wants to cast a wide net
Collect as many friends as you can get

Excellent. You sound so different. A bit Elvis Costello and Elliot Smith in there. An urban album. Great clean sound. Love Holidays. More, please? Roy Greer
An album that gets better with every listen. It was already in my top 10 of the year, but it just keeps pushing higher. Lydia Loveless is so damn underrated. William Boyle
